Design Force, Inc., proudly announces that The Toy Book has published its president, Ted Mininni’s latest article as a feature in the publication’s Outside the Box column of the February 2023 BIG issue. The piece, titled: A New Approach to Plastic-Free Packaging (on page 257) discusses how Hasbro eliminates plastic from their packaging, yet maintains a strong connection with their consumers.

As the article begins, Mr. Mininni states: “As Hasbro continues on this path of sustainability, I’ve taken note of some truly innovative ways in which it has modified its approach to package structures that leverage blisters and acetate windows.” He then goes on to explain how Hasbro has eliminated the blister and acetate from two of its brands’ packaging, yet kept the overarching package designs the same while brilliantly simulating the experience of viewing product through clear plastic through the use of photography and natural cast shadows.
