Developing a holiday trend theme for licensed product design

Peanuts Worldwide engaged our design team to establish a new trend theme and create the design elements and style guide for a Christmas-themed licensing program featuring the PEANUTS characters, called Posting Wishes.

Our trend research led us to a theme based on the holiday pastime of sending Christmas cards and writing letters to Santa, which focuses heavily on holiday nostalgia.

Creating holiday-themed design elements

Our design elements combine Christmas themed postage stamp motifs, envelope graphics, rubber stamped postmarks and holiday-flavored fonts in spot graphics and patterns with a bold holiday color palette featuring Snoopy and the PEANUTS gang in winter and Christmas holiday settings selected from the brand’s archives.

Applying the design system across product categories

We also developed the style guide and a handful of inspiration to show how the design elements for this licensing program can be brought to life on licensed consumer products from a variety of categories.
