Developing an asset pack inspired by garage culture
Mattel worked with our design team to develop a consumer product asset pack for the Hot Wheels™ brand inspired by garage culture and signage. The Hot Wheels™ Body Shop Asset Pack contains a collection of typography-focused assets that use muted earth tones and primary colors suited for workwear. The asset pack is primarily focused on adult softlines, but can flex for other categories and age ranges.
Creating design elements for licensed products
Our design solutions for graphics, badges and patterns feature gritty, hand-manipulated typography to establish an aesthetic inspired by garage culture branding and advertising. Designs feature Hot Wheels™ iconography, checkered motifs and other classic graphic treatments along with vernacular associated with auto body and mechanic shops to add an authentic appeal.
Conveying the proper visual aesthetic through product inspiration
Shown along with the assets are a mixture of product inspiration and actual products currently available in the marketplace. These examples demonstrate how the asset pack can translate into apparel, accessories and lifestyle products while maintaining a cohesive, garage-inspired visual aesthetic.
