Dr. Seuss Enterprises worked with our team to develop the creative strategy and style guide for the new Seuss Chef franchise and lifestyle licensing program. Seuss Chef is the foodie brand for kids. From garden to table, the franchise educates children on ingredients and food sources so they can make better choices, inspires children to create and cook, and encourages children to celebrate and share healthy foods with their families.
Our creative strategy for the licensing program integrates graphic illustrations of cooking and gardening tools with classic Dr. Seuss character art. The graphic illustrations were developed in a simple, clean style with a Seussian approach to their contours. The character artwork was enhanced with fruit and utensils done in an illustration style that seamlessly merges with Dr. Seuss’s own artwork. We developed badge designs, pattern designs, border designs, type treatments and iconography that combine dedicated, food-related editorial with the classic Dr. Seuss storylines.
As inspiration to licensee partners and to allow the Seuss Chef style guide to function as a powerful sales tool, we developed product applications representing a variety of consumer product categories, including cooking, kitchen appliances, eating accessories, toys and gardening while pairing an appropriate Dr. Seuss storyline with each product in a meaningful way.
