Minions Character Pattern Style Guide

When NBCUniversal identified a need among their licensee partners for well-conceived and well-executed pattern designs, they engaged our design team to develop an entire style guide dedicated to repeat patterns featuring the Minions characters from the Despicable Me movie franchise.

The objective for the style guide was to establish a broad range of patterns to eliminate the need for licensee partners to attempt to build repeat patterns on their own, which would typically result in awkward spacial relationships and incorrect size relationships among the various characters. We created a wide variety of patterns, leveraging current and emerging fashion and design trends, incorporating both CG and vector illustration styles.
