Lucasfilm
Rogue One:
A Star Wars Story
Style Guide
We were engaged by Lucasfilm to develop a series of step-and-repeat patterns for the Rogue One: A Star Wars Story licensing program style guide, featuring artwork of the new characters and iconography appearing in the film.
Our solutions capture the grittiness of the storyline while depicting a sense of conflict through dedicated Resistance- and Empire-oriented patterns. A range of stylistic treatments were employed to bring diversity to these design elements: a realistic wall of Imperial propaganda riddled with blaster damage and marked by stenciled graffiti; a richly layered digital interface featuring plans for the first Death Star; and textured toss patterns of intricately illustrated character art, graphic silhouettes, symbology and property branding.
